The sky is the limit for charity fundraisers

Hawsons Chartered Accountants recently continued their support for local charities as Dalia Qarawi and Aimee Smith took part in a charity skydive, descending 13,000 feet at Hinton Airfield on September 19.

Aimee and Dalia raised money for the Paediatrics Department at the Northampton General Hospital, with support from the Northamptonshire Health Charity. They raised over £900, more than double their initial target.

Aimee said:

“Having the opportunity to do a skydive was one I couldn’t miss, being able to support the charity and to experience it with a colleague was amazing. This was definitely an experience ticked off my bucket list. Seeing the support through fundraising and the team from Hawsons cheering us on during the event, made it all worthwhile. Admittedly, it was terrifying at first but once the parachute was pulled, it was like flying without wings!”

Dalia said:

“The cause was our motivation, given that the donations raised went to a heart-warming charity. Furthermore, having the support of our colleagues throughout the whole process was very encouraging.”

A number of colleagues went along to cheer Aimee and Dalia on, which made the experience even more uplifting.

On a similar theme, David Owens, Partner at Hawsons, completed the Great North Run with The Teamwork Trust. Afterwards, he said he’d loved taking part, and completed the run in a great time. Hawsons will continue to involve themselves with charity events in the future.
