Feeling the love for cancer charity

Legal, News | February 1, 2022

To mark World Cancer Day on February 4, Northamptonshire’s #singingsolicitor Kevin Rogers has teamed up again with broadcaster John Griff to release a version of Make You Feel My Love, as an even bigger fundraiser.

Picture this: you’re in hospital for cancer treatment, when a stranger brings a gift of essentials such as toiletries, a book or even a radio: some of the things you may have forgotten or run out of. Founded by Lee and Lorraine Lewis, The Lewis Foundation does just that, and has done more than 75,000 times, bringing comfort to those needing a kind gesture and perhaps some support.

Doing their bit to help The Lewis Foundation, Kevin (Chairman of Wilson Browne Solicitors and past President of the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce) and John will build on the success of their 2021 fundraising collaboration.

This year they are joined by:

  • Ian Taylor, Business Consultant from Tinderbox Ltd (who previously toured with Sir Cliff!) on piano
  • Beccy Hurrell on flute and vocals – Beccy is Director at Beccy Hurrell Voice & Arts Limited and she also looks after… The KGH Choir, a choir from Kettering General Hospital

Kevin said:

“I lost my best friend Graham to cancer nine years ago; I have lost family members and friends. What Lee and Lorraine do week after week for 15 hospitals is a shining example of kindness. Funding these gifts takes dedication and effort, so if we can help on this day of all days, then we have played a small part in helping them carry on supporting others.”

Many people have contributed to the song and video production in the hope that others will donate to the JustGiving Page, stream the song, buy it, or share it. There is only one goal – to raise awareness of The Lewis Foundation. The track will be available from February 4, on Amazon, Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes and YouTubeMusic.

Kevin added:

“It’s our way of raising awareness and hopefully some funds, as well as a tribute to those we lost and those living with cancer: it’s for memories made and memories yet to be made. Please support us if you can – The Lewis Foundation does incredible things for people in hospital, providing cheer, company, distraction and kindness. Make them feel our love.”

Make You Feel My Love, licensed by Sony Music Publishing (UK) Ltd, will launch on February 4 at 9:30am on Kevin’s LinkedIn page
