Firm achieves its goal of supporting grassroots football

Finance | November 1, 2022

Hawsons Grange Park Rangers

Hawsons actively participates in several initiatives run within the Northamptonshire community and when the opportunity arose to sponsor a grassroots football team, Grange Park Rangers, the firm of accountants was eager to secure the opportunity.

It recently confirmed that it will be proudly sponsoring the Grange Park Rangers (GPR) U8 away shirt for the 2022-23 football season. The club gained Football Association (FA) status in 2005 and is an active part of the community in Grange Park. The sponsorship will help fund the away kits, which will include the Hawsons logo on the front of the shirt.

Rhiannon Mistry, Corporate Services Manager at Hawsons, said:

“Grassroots football is so important to the children in the community. Nearly all coaches and people involved in the club are volunteers, so sponsorships are vital for the successful running of the club. I look forward to seeing how the team does this season.”

Hawsons sees the sponsorship an investment in supporting young people to learn and develop new skills in a happy, inclusive environment. As a firm, team members share several different sporting interests including badminton, running and football, and recently hosted a football tournament which was well supported and helped to raise vital money for charity.

David Owens, Partner at Hawsons, said:

“We are always looking to have a positive impact on our local community and being able to sponsor GPR, a team closely linked to one of our managers here at Hawsons, was appealing as it provides several benefits to young people.

“Competitive sports enable these children to learn valuable life lessons that they will carry with them into their working life, through keeping fit, working as a team and building their confidence.  Also, kids grow up wearing their favourite football shirt with various sponsors on them. When growing up playing football, naturally you were excited when you put on your fresh new-season shirt.”

Hawsons is looking forward to seeing how the team performs during the year and will be cheering them on all the way.
