There’s no doubt there is a place for life online. Whether it’s a spot of ‘buy it now’ retail therapy or catching up with friends on social – our digital footprint is bigger than ever, but nothing quite beats the feeling of doing it IRL.
The past 18 months has seen Northampton College pivot to hosting ‘virtual’ open events on Zoom but, although these were successful and enabled prospective students to get a glimpse of facilities during lockdown, the college is absolutely delighted to now be reverting to ‘in-person’ open events once again.
These events allow prospective students and their families to open the doors to a new future and see first-hand what college life is all about.
The new season of open events got under way on October 14 and will run throughout the year, with learners invited to come along to as many as they want, get advice, see the facilities and talk to tutors as well as current students.
It’s free, it’s face to face and it’s full of the facts needed to make an informed decision about what’s next.
With a wide range of courses available across the three campuses, Northampton College is confident it will have something that suits every student down to the ground, giving them the chance to learn from respected industry professionals who’ve been there, seen it and done it themselves.
The largest campus is Booth Lane in Northampton, which features a state-of-the-art Digital Academy – for anyone interested in coding, graphic design or Esports – the Advanced Construction Engineering Centre, professional performing arts spaces and an open-air amphitheatre.
The college has its own TV and radio studios, engineering workshops and, for anyone into cars, industry-standard spray paint booths for refinishing.
For all those interested in hairdressing and beauty therapy, the town centre campus at Lower Mounts is the place to go, while the purpose-built campus in Daventry boasts all the latest technology and equipment students will need to thrive in their studies.
The Northampton College team will be at all the open events to chat, point students in the right direction and ensure all their questions are answered, and would love to have some local employers there to explain more about apprenticeships and routes into work – contact the college team if this is something you’d be interested in helping with.
There are lots of new courses to choose from for 2022-23 and a flavour of these can be found in the new prospectus – available to view online now. But there is no substitute for seeing this all for yourself at an open event.
