In this episode of All Things Business – The Podcast, Ben sits down with Alex Goldsmith, Richard Smith and James Syrotiuk from Medigold Health. They discuss the business’s development since their previous guest appearance in October 2024.
Staying resilient through hardship
Alex, Richard and James open up about how their latest acquisition came with major challenges. Following the Autumn Government budget announcement, Medigold Health took a several million pound hit. Management was forced to make some very difficult decisions.
However, they chose to see these circumstances as an opportunity to change and reconsider the stagnant areas of the business. Now they are in a place where the business is stable, they have reduced costs and improved their service, and have greatly reduced wait times for their clients.
Neurodiversity awareness
Fittingly for disability pride month, conversation turned towards the importance of raising awareness for neurodiversity in the workplace. 1 in 7 workers have some degree of neurodiversity, but many are undiagnosed, and companies are uneducated on how best to support their neurodiverse employees.
Medigold Health see the potential in many neurodiverse workers and are working with companies to provide training and educate businesses on different types of neurodiversity and accompanying symptoms. This work exemplifies the broadening scope of occupational health, where all aspects of employees’ wellbeing are considered.
The future of occupational health
Medigold Health are working hard to ethically implement AI into their systems to increase efficiency and reduce burnout with their clinicians. They have established policies and governance about AI within the company to ensure it is used to the best of its ability, and they encourage other companies to integrate it into their workflow.
Technology is only expanding, and it is going to play an exciting role in the future of healthcare. Medigold Health are forging ahead and are only planning on expanding and developing their services further, while continuing to provide great customer service.
