New alpaca experience now open to visitors

Meadow Bay Villages is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new attraction at Billing Aquadrome: the Alpaca Experience, which opened to the delight of visitors on Friday 4 July.

Nestled in the heart of Northamptonshire, Billing Aquadrome has long been a haven for both people and animals. With flourishing biodiversity – from red kites and otters to newly re-introduced hedgehogs – the park offers guests a wonderful connection to the natural world. Now, with Meadow Bay Villages’ continued investment, that connection is cuddlier than ever.

The new Alpaca Experience invites guests to walk and pet the friendly alpacas in a 30 minute guided session for just £10. Guests will get to know the charismatic herd – Alpacino, Cilla, Casandra, Willow and Chewpaca – under the expert care of Safari Shannon, the park’s alpaca specialist.

Sessions are available to book online and open for reservation up to three weeks in advance.

Safari Shannon said: “This is more than a walk – it’s a chance to create a memory, connect with animals and learn something new.

“Each alpaca has her own personality, and I have no doubt our guests will enjoy getting to know each of them and learning about alpaca care.”

The arrival of the alpacas is the latest addition to the park’s growing commitment to wildlife engagement.

Over the last 12 years, Jeff, a long time resident, former RSPCA officer and passionate wildlife expert, has helped animals across the site. As the park flourishes under the ownership of Meadow Bay Villages, Jeff’s volunteer work is more visible than ever – bringing education, rehabilitation and a love for biodiversity to visitors and residents alike. His daily efforts – from hand rearing ducks and swans to nurturing rare geese – have become a welcome part of life at Billing Aquadrome.

Nikki Rathie, Holidays Director at Billing Aquadrome, said: “Jeff’s knowledge, passion and dedication have helped transform this park into a wildlife haven, and we’re proud to support him every step of the way.”

The addition of alpacas brings a new layer of charm and interactivity to an already diverse wildlife offering. Whether you’re walking an alpaca, meeting Jeff or spotting otters by the water, Billing Aquadrome continues to be a place where nature, community and care come together.

Located in the beautiful Nene Valley, in the heart of Northamptonshire, Billing Aquadrome is set within 235 acres of stunning scenery with lakes, rivers, canal side location, and a marina.

Outstanding accommodation is now on offer at Billing Aquadrome from platinum caravans with hot tubs, to dog friendly lodges and luxury glamping pods, along with brand new facilities to entertain the whole family.  The new facilities at Billing Aquadrome include an Amphitheatre and Open-Air Cinema, a new Aqua Park facility, BMX pump track and Himalayan Adventure Golf Course.
