An award-winning accountancy firm is making a series of key appointments to further strengthen the support it can offer its clients.
Rushden-based Elsby & Co prides itself on being the only accountant that its clients ever need or wish to consult throughout the lifetime of their business and beyond.
To achieve this, it offers a range of services covering accountancy and advisory, corporate finance, estate planning and wealth management and it has developed a business hub for clients.
All its services are delivered by an expert team of professionals who are encouraged by Elsby & Co to take advantage of a wide variety of training and coaching opportunities.
The firm has recently been recruiting for a number of high-profile roles, including Audit Account Manager, Senior Accountant and Client Manager.
Elsby & Co Managing Director Claire Emery said: “We’re not content with offering traditional accountancy services alone. We want to help our clients grow and achieve their business ambitions which is why we’ve developed a strong team that delivers a comprehensive range of extra services to our clients.
“To achieve this, we work hard to develop our existing team and are always on the lookout for the right people to join us. We’re so excited to be making these key appointments which we know will strengthen our team further. We’re particularly pleased to be adding to our fantastic Audit team as more and more clients are turning to us for their expertise because they’re finding larger companies aren’t able to give them a personable service. We are also looking for future partners for the business.”
In addition, Elsby & Co develops its workforce by recruiting trainees through its robust annual work experience programme open to Year 12 students in Northamptonshire.
The intensive programme includes telephone screening interviews and a group workshop followed by an assessment carried out by its recruitment team which selects the top candidates to become its next generation of trainees.
This year, the firm received a record-breaking number of applicants and went on to appoint three outstanding work experience placements.
Elsby & Co has also recently promoted one of its colleagues, Matt Strachan to a Trainee L3 position and is celebrating with staff who have achieved exam success.
Senior accountant Katie Simms has recently become a fully qualified accountant and her success follows that of her colleague, senior accountant Lydia Wright, who qualified at the end of last year.
Katie and Lydia were expertly supported in their studies by Elsby & Co’s Head of Operations Ann Phillips and Audit Manager Sue Halsall who both have a wealth of experience in training and coaching.
Claire Emery added: “Everyone at Elsby plays a part in the service we provide to our clients so it’s very important to us that we support every staff member with their development, management and communication skills and growth.
“We never forget that we’re on a mission to help our clients in as many ways as we can and to help us achieve that all our staff are encouraged to learn as much as possible.
“We enable our staff to attend learning and revision courses during work time to prepare for exams and provide extra support through regular one-to-ones with line managers and soft skills training delivered through lunchtime learning sessions, podcasts and recorded presentations.
“We’re thrilled that so many of our team have had exam successes during the past few months. We’re so proud of them and all the hard work they have put in to achieve such fantastic results.
“We’re confident that the wealth of knowledge and experience they’ve accumulated will benefit both our team and our clients.”
Elsby & Co also works closely with First Intuition, Northampton College and Bedford College to provide AAT apprenticeships for 16 and 18-year-olds, as well as graduate ACCA apprenticeships.
It guarantees apprentices a structured learning programme, ringfenced learning time, flexible access to courses, support from a dedicated mentor and a recognised qualification at the end of the scheme.
In addition, the Elsby & Co team benefits from a comprehensive support package, including flexible working options, a community support scheme, a death in service scheme, company mobiles for client managers and client facing teams, comprehensive medical benefits for managers, a bonus scheme and a long service holiday award.
It is also part of a benefits scheme which provides staff with discounts via an app to a range of supermarkets, department stores, cinemas and popular restaurants and bars, and its health and wellbeing package includes access to a free GP 24/7 service and a confidential Employee Assistance Programme.
