Key events are always a time for the team at Hawsons Chartered Accountants to show what they can do and what better way than a baking competition? In April, Hawsons held its annual baking competition, this time with an Easter theme, having previously had Halloween and Christmas themes.
The judges tasted the scrumptious bakes and judged on their presentation, texture, taste and whether they fit the theme, in order to crown the Star Baker 2023. The last two competitions have been won by Leanne Boucher with her fabulous cake designs.
The staff put their creative minds to the test and created their Easter masterpieces, including nests and bunnies filled with chocolatey goods.
David Owens, Partner at Hawsons, said:
“It is great to see staff having a bit of fun and entering the competitions, we always look forward to the baking competition especially the leftovers!”
Leanne Boucher, Aimee Smith, Steph Hines, Rachel Barber and Holly Wilson took part in the baking, with David Cairns, Partha Joshi, Vai Rawji and Gareth Davies on the judging panel. The names of the cakes were Easter themed and included, Hey There Hop Stuff and Lemon Drop Any Bunny?

She said:
“I love taking part every year and this year I got really stuck into the theme, they were all really strong competitors but I am pleased to hold onto my title for a further year!”
