Within the past few months Sparrow Construction in Kettering has seen massive growth, driven by a determination to make the most of the company’s specialist knowledge and take sales and projects to a new level.
Turnover has increased significantly since Managing Director Radoslaw Wroblewski took the decision to focus on the operational side of the business and build a sales and technical design team that would give him, and the business, the opportunity to move forward at pace, matching the needs of core customers.
Turnover recently passed the £2m mark, after being at around £300,000 for some time. The company, which was founded in 2017, provides high-quality aluminium glazing solutions from doors and windows to curtain walls and facades, partnered with a range of major manufacturers, installed with precision and efficiency to clients the length and breadth of the country.
“I started off working with my Dad as a fitter’s mate and learned the trade hands on,” said Radoslaw. “Working for indirect contractors, we saw some things that simply weren’t at the high standard demanded and we took the decision to work directly with fabricators, where we were more in control of quality and logistics.
“We were able to keep working throughout Covid, when, where others had stopped work and projects had stalled, we could pick up jobs and get them finished, and that was really the start of our strategic growth.

“But it got to the point where the business growth put me under a lot of pressure, looking after both sales and operations, and it was clear the business had gone as far as it could under that process. Juggling between sales and operation wasn’t growing the business. It was clear I needed to have time to focus on my clients and time became my biggest obstacle to that.
“It was now or never, so we decided to bring in a dedicated sales and service team. The results were immediate, we are now exceeding our plans by quite some margin already and aiming to continue to grow.”
Sparrow Construction now has a fantastic team of six in the office as well as 80 carefully selected sub-contractors fulfilling orders and completing projects throughout the country, from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
The experience and specialist knowledge within the company, backed by the high standard of contractors, means that Sparrow Construction clients benefit from a service that is focused on precision and efficiency and delivers structures that are built to stand the test of time.

Key to that success is having the ability to spot problems early on and help clients overcome them.
“If clients simply want us to install the products they’ve ordered, that’s fine,” said Radoslaw, “but we can also design, supply and install for any that want our technical support from design to handover.
“We’ve been supplying mainly to Tier 1 companies, but our strategy has widened out to Tier 2 and 3 now we have the services they need, and the expertise to work closely with them. We are also working with off-site and modular building companies, which is a growing side of the sector, fitting windows and doors once the buildings are moved onto the site.
“And I think what also sets us apart is that we have the experience to identify any potential issues and alert the client at the earliest opportunity. We don’t walk away from problems, we try to solve them, so that when the project is ready for installation there are fewer delays and less hassle.”
