Clients, friends of the firm, local dignitaries and regional media were recently invited to Lancaster House, next to the University of Northampton, to celebrate HCR Hewitsons’ new Central England legal hub.
It followed the firm officially opening its doors to its Central England office on November 28, as a result of client demand for a wider provision of legal services.
The celebratory evening not only showcased the firm’s new space but also local craft food and drink producers, thanks to the support of Made in Northamptonshire. Guests enjoyed samples of exquisite cheese, charcuterie, mini pastries and ice cream all produced by companies based in the region. The opportunity to purchase from the suppliers was the perfect way for guests to kickstart their Christmas shopping.
Local charities including the cancer care charity, Maggie’s, and MK Dons Sport and Education Trust were also championed throughout the evening as guests participated in a silent auction and donation drive, raising over £1,150.
Speaking on the night, Charlotte Thornton-Smith, who heads the new office with Dominic Hopkins, said: “We were delighted to welcome clients and friends of the firm – the people we consider to be part of the community we live and work in – to share the evening with us at Lancaster House. It’s great to be based at the heart of a thriving innovative community and we love being in our new home.”
Dominic added: “Thank you to those who have made this possible, who introduced us to this setting and to our new neighbours. Building partnerships and supporting the region lies at the heart of what we do; to locate our new hub here at Lancaster House means developing deeper relationships with local organisations. The firm’s roots are deeply embedded here in the region and now we have an expanded team – with an expanded space – which will not only strengthen existing relationships but also to help give us that extra reach.”
