Exciting plans are taking shape for a new Northamptonshire Food and Drink Week, taking place for the first time this year in June.
Sponsored by Wilson Browne Solicitors and organised by Made in Northamptonshire and the Northamptonshire Tourism Business Network, the county’s first-ever Food and Drink Week, from June 1 to 9, will showcase special events, menus, pop ups, collaborations, tours, tastings and more, at locations all around the county.
Raising a glass to the people, places and producers that make up the county’s brilliant food and drink scene, the organisers hope the new initiative will encourage visitors and residents alike to support independent businesses, and find new favourites – whether pubs, restaurants, food or drink products – putting the county’s home grown firmly on the food and drink map of England.
Among the events that will be happening during the week are a local produce market at Whitco in Thrapston on June 1, The Best of Northamptonshire Long Table Banquet at The Tollemache Arms, Harrington on June 7, a new food and drink festival at Delapré Abbey on June 8 and 9, student take overs, and special week-long Northamptonshire-based menus at the award-winning Tap and Kitchen in Olney.
