Logistics is increasingly driven by technology, from automated processes in the warehouse to real -time delivery information and tracking, and Simply Business Services specialises in ensuring the flow of goods continues effectively and efficiently.
Sister companies, Simply Workspace and Simply Techspace, work with clients to help configure the best use of space and fit out the offices, meeting rooms and breakout areas, backing that up with the technical knowledge that is vital to keep the operation running smoothly.
Simply Commspace, meanwhile, has the telecoms knowledge to maintain communication and information sharing between teams in sales, in the warehouse and out on the road.
The three arms of the business operate under the umbrella of Simply Business Services, which has its headquarters on Moulton Park from where clients in all sectors, from commercial to healthcare and education, are provided with a comprehensive range of services.

Jon Bautista, founder of Simply Workspace, said: “We don’t have a specific target market because our services apply to pretty much all areas of business. Most companies need offices and all the fixtures, fittings and furniture that goes with them, and these days they all need the technology and communications systems that are vital to the modern business.
“We’ve done a lot of work over the years with some large clients in the warehousing sector and understand their needs and how much they rely on efficient systems to store goods and then get them to where they need to be. Efficiency means avoiding wasted space and transforming every inch available into a well-designed, practical working environment.”
Simply Techspace, founded by Matt Dann, works with leading manufacturers to supply and install stock management and IT systems that deliver fulfilment without a hitch. That could be anything from hand-held, vehicle mounted and wearable computers, to screens displaying real-time information, barcode and RFID printers and scanners, and environmental sensors.
The company can also install and maintain office admin systems, and provide 24/7 support and back-up, as well as devices for drivers that open up opportunities for logistics providers to offer their own customers up-to-the-minute information about arrival times, invoices and delivery documents. Digital security and data resilience is also an important factor for clients.
Matt said: “When you think how big some warehouses are now, it’s important to get processes right from the start. We can take a completely empty shell and discuss with the client how stock will be stored and managed and from there come up with a plan that optimises the fl ow around the building for maximum efficiency.
“Then we can install flooring, racking and a loading area, maybe office space, kitchens and meeting rooms, and then look at how they can make the most of their technology. For a large space, we can create flow lines and heat maps that help identify the optimum positioning for wifi and telephony, so that every inch of the building has the coverage and communication it needs.
“With all the information that goes through various systems throughout the logistics process, it’s vital that data is secure, and that is something clients are turning to us for advice on more and more. Cyber attacks can have devastating effects and sensitive data being compromised is hugely damaging, and we can help them make sure that all their technology and communications have the protection they need to safeguard themselves and their customers.”
Simply Business Services believes in a circular approach and, where it’s possible, advising on recycling, refurbishing or repurposing to reduce cost. The team uses the term ‘lifecycle services’ which involves identifying what needs upgrading, what needs replacing, and what can be reconfigured to reduce the need for unnecessary financial outlay.
The three specialisms within Simply Business Services work together to make projects simpler by ensuring any work carried out is done with both the furniture and fitting, and the incorporation of IT and telecoms infrastructure, in mind.
Jon added: “Whether it’s a new building or a reconfiguration, the logistics sector relies on technology and efficient processes and if you’ve got areas where there’s no signal or operatives can’t get goods out when they need to go out, you’re going to be less productive, so getting it right from the start is always the best option.”
