Bosworth Independent College is celebrating another year of outstanding exam results with many A-level students progressing to a top UK university, with destinations that include the University of Cambridge, King’s College London, University of Warwick and many more highly reputable institutions.
Principal, Jason Lewis, said: “Congratulations to all Bosworth A-level students for their outstanding results. All the hard work and preparation have paid dividends! Our students have done themselves, their families and the Bosworth community proud. On behalf of all staff at Bosworth, I would like to wish our students every success for the future at their chosen universities and beyond.”
A-level student, Sahar, has achieved A*A*A in Chemistry, Physics and Further Maths and has secured a place at the University of Cambridge to study Engineering.
Sahar said: “Bosworth helped me get into Cambridge by providing extra weekly lessons so we could discuss admission tests and ask any questions of our teachers. Personally, I prepared by studying after school, and for extracurricular activities, I used to do many projects, attend online courses and university virtual open days.”
Bosworth’s aim is to develop confident, independent and well-rounded learners who realise their full potential before making informed choices about career options. For A-levels, the average class size is eight students, this creates the ideal environment to provide care and attention for each and every student, allowing them to excel in their chosen subjects.
There are a variety of skills and traits that students are expected to exhibit alongside their academic potential when applying to Oxbridge. At Bosworth, these skills are developed during the Oxbridge Preparation Programme, where all Bosworth students with high academic aspirations are welcome to join the programme free of charge. The programme ultimately contributes to Bosworth students’ academic and personal success.
For Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine, Bosworth offer a tailored preparation programme which includes weekly workshops, visits from former students, preparation for admissions tests and panels, and MMI practice interviews. Bosworth also help students to secure valuable work experience and voluntary work.
Bosworth alumnus Anish, who graduated last year with an A* in Chemistry, A* in Maths, A in Biology and A* in EPQ (with a focus on treatment for Alzheimer’s disease), has accepted a place at the Queen Mary University of London to study Medicine.
Anish took a gap year to focus on work experience and volunteering at the Northampton General Hospital, supporting the NHS during the pandemic response. He has also spent the year practising admissions tests and interview processes with Alison Lewis, Oxbridge and Medical Programme Coordinator at Bosworth.
He said: “Miss Lewis has helped me a lot during my gap year, she would practise with me every week, which was very helpful, even though I have already left Bosworth.”
When asked why anyone should consider studying at Bosworth, Anish said: “I would suggest choosing Bosworth if you want to do well in your A-levels. I think it is one of the best schools because of individualised learning and the focus on achieving the right grades. The reason why I thought Bosworth was a good fit for me was because I wanted to study medicine, which is very competitive. The school offers an exclusive Medic Preparation Programme that includes interview preparation and admission test support, which is very helpful.”
