A new charity event at Milton Keynes business park, The Park MK, is set to ignite the interest of those who love a challenge. A fundraising firewalk will take place on March 5 next year in aid of children’s grief charity Harry’s Rainbow.
The Firewalk will be expertly managed by the team at UK Firewalk and will see participants walk four to five meters over hot coals that can reach temperatures of 500 degrees Celsius. This is an exhilarating mind-over-matter challenge.
Spectators will be welcome at the event, where there will be food and drink vendors as well as glowsticks and music. The business park will be open from 3.30pm to welcome guests. Training will take place 4pm to 5pm and then the firewalks will begin!
Sarah Osoba, Marketing and Lifestyle Manager at The Park MK, conceived the idea and said:
“Our business park community is quite competitive so I wanted something to challenge them, as well as sharing what we have with the wider Milton Keynes community. A firewalk isn’t for the faint-hearted, so I hope we raise lots of funds for Harry’s Rainbow whilst bringing the community together in this shared experience.”
Alison Johnson, Fundraising and Events Manager at Harry’s Rainbow said:
“We are so grateful to The Park MK for supporting Harry’s Rainbow with this exciting event. We have seen a huge increase in registrations at Harry’s Rainbow this year, therefore we are really relying on companies and the local community to help us raise enough money to support this demand moving into 2025.
“We never want to say no to a bereaved child, therefore we are asking you to say yes to this great event! The registration fee covers the cost of your Harry’s Rainbow T-Shirt and a certificate. There is then a minimum sponsorship of £80 per person to help with our fundraising effort. Every penny is being donated to Harry’s Rainbow as The Park MK are covering all of the costs from their CSR fund. We really hope that lots of people will take part.”
The event booking is now live on Eventbrite, with an early bird price available until January 1, 2025.
