Partner appointment will open up new avenues

With a key appointment announced at the beginning of this year, J Sweeney Accountants is continuing its growth and developing new opportunities to help clients get the most from their financial support.

Callum Andrews has joined the Pitsford-based firm as a Partner, joining founder James Sweeney, Partners Joseph Skinner and Steve Thomas and the team they have built over the past few years.

The approach of the firm has been built on keeping costs to a minimum for clients and take the burden off business owners and managers, allowing them to outsource financial matters that are vital to the business but time-consuming to the experts, leaving them to concentrate on what they do best.

The introduction of Callum is part of the firm’s aim of opening up different avenues as it continues to expand.

Callum said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the J Sweeney team. I’ve known James for years and when this opportunity presented itself, to join a great team in brilliant offices and where there’s a set-up and culture that really appealed to me, it just felt like the stars were aligned.

“I’ve been a chartered accountant all my career and have been working in a more specialised tax role for the past few years and my new role will be very much about supporting SMEs and individuals with all their accounting and tax affairs and identifying tax efficiency opportunities.

“What’s important to me is growing my portfolio and building relationships with clients that takes a more proactive approach to helping them plan for growth. I always think it’s vital that accountants ask a few more questions all year round, not just taking stock at year end.

“SMEs want to focus on what they are good at and what they need to do to keep their business going, by supporting them and helping them identify opportunities to reduce their tax we can help them grow and develop.”

As accountants and business advisors, J Sweeney Accountants offers a full range of accountancy services, from bookkeeping, payroll and year-end accounts through to business and tax planning, management accounts and an outsourced financial directorship service.

A fixed-fee arrangement means that clients don’t have to consider how much the bill is going to be when they contact their advisor for advice.

The outsourcing model has proven attractive to clients who are not in a position to invest in a dedicated finance department but need all the financial support such a department would offer, bringing all the benefits of a working relationship that not only offers financial support, but also focuses on the growth strategy and development that normally falls onto a finance director.

An outsourced team also provides clients with the experience and expertise of a wider team, ensuring an all-round service and the input of professionals across a whole range of specialisms where needed.

Joseph Skinner, Director at J Sweeney Accountants, said: “Callum comes in with an exceptional track record in accounts and R&D, he brings a wealth of experience and innovative vision that will drive our business forward with a hands-on approach to client satisfaction.

“Callum is a great fit and we can’t wait to see how things develop.”
