The latest edition of All Things Business – The Podcast stayed close to home. Ben introduced his two latest signings – the strike force that is Nick Mann and Chris Langsford.
Chris Langsford
Chris joined All Things Business in October as Head of Sales as part of the plans to drive the publication forward in 2025. He joined after a stint at Northampton Town and was previously Sales Manager at the Park Inn, now Mercure Northampton. His main aim was to grow the hotel back into the local venue it had been before the pandemic hit.
Nick Mann
Nick Mann has run his own businesses in and around Milton Keynes for the best part of 30 years. Mainly in the agency and technology space, and, as Chair of the Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP) has a wide-ranging network in and around the city.
He recently joined GIANT, the agency branch of Augmented Group. All Things Business is also part of this group and he is now the Business Development Director.
In his role with MKBLP, Nick has been instrumental in the success of the Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards – a natural cross-over with All Things Business, organisers of the Milton Keynes Education Awards (MKEAs). Nick spoke about the important work of the MKEAs and how important it is that businesses don’t just demand that education establishments produce the trained people businesses need, it also needs to play a part in giving work experience opportunities and going out and speaking to children in schools.
School Experiences
Sharing their own experiences at school, the focus was on sports with Ben, Chris and Nick all talking about how the key figures for them during their schooldays were PE teachers who encouraged them in their love of sport and games.
Looking Ahead
Looking forward, Chris discussed how the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards, which took place within his first couple of weeks in his new role was an opportunity to introduce himself to the business community. 2025 promises to be an exciting time, looking at what All Things Business can bring to Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire, growing as a company and as a publication. He also spoke about looking forward to working with, and learning from, Nick.
Nick mentioned that GIANT is well established in Northamptonshire. However, it is now gaining recognition in Milton Keynes.
The agency landscape there is always changing and evolving. He is excited about the chance to introduce GIANT to a wider network. Working on the MKBAAs and the MKEAs together is also going to be an excellent way to showcase both brands.
