Check out any list of the most stressful life events and you’ll find moving house in a pretty high position. So, because we know how much a hassle-free selling or buying experience means to our clients, and we know how much of our success has been built on the fantastic team we’ve put together, we thought it would be fun to put those ‘safe hands’ to a slightly different use and have the ultimate smashing time for our tenth anniversary celebrations.
After a fairly quiet start, with brunch then a few drinks at the office, we took everyone off to a Rage Room where we smashed things up, threw axes and generally let off steam. Later, still part of the anniversary celebrations, we turned to murder. Not literally, but to put our brains to good use at a Murder Mystery evening where we dressed up, let our hair down and put our problem-solving skills to the test.
Not that our team need help dealing with stress – they are the ultimate professionals with the experience and knowledge to see each project through from start to finish, channelling whatever stresses there are into positivity and getting the right result for their clients.
Behind the celebration planning was how much my business partner Neal Butler and I want to show our appreciation for our team. Ever since we first set up in The Hub in Milton Keynes back in 2015 and began the journey to what Thomas Connolly is today, a busy, full-service estate agency, the people around us have been what set us apart from the rest.

Together, we’re managing some massive portfolios in and around Milton Keynes and we are proud to be able to demonstrate that we are miles ahead of our competition. Using statistics from Right Move, the biggest property site there is, with every agent on there, we can show our clients verified data that makes it clear to them how far ahead we are.
Our success began with the relentless passion and determination Neal and I put into building the business – and has grown because we have some of the most passionate and determined people working with us to achieve greater success together. We take it very seriously. We all care about the reputation of the company, and take pride in what we do and how we do it, as individuals and as a team.
The agency is owner-led and owner driven but these days all the hard work is done by our amazing team. Neal and I have been there and we understand the market and we’ve used that drive and vision to create a team that can go out there, do the appointments, and do the deals the way we all agree our clients deserve.
Putting the team together meant attracting and headhunting people that are talented, credible individuals that would help put the company in a strong position in the market. That, together with investing heavily in bespoke software and ongoing training, meant we left no stone unturned in our aim to be the best lettings agency in the region.
