Sector gathers for an evening to remember

As a celebration of the specialist knowledge, experience and innovation within the county, the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards have grown into one of the biggest annual celebrations of the logistics, warehousing and distribution sector.

Founded in 2016, the awards have gained a reputation as much for hard-fought category wins between some of the biggest names in the business, as for how they recognise and celebrate the smaller companies and individuals that help keep goods moving efficiently across the county, across the country, and across the world.

The first awards, which were held at the John Lewis Warehouse on Grange Park, Northampton, had 24 finalists. This year’s awards ceremony will be held at the Mercure Northampton Hotel on September 26, where 48 finalists in 11 categories will await the announcement of the winners of the 2025 Northamptonshire Logistics Awards.

Hiten Patel, from previous winners HSP Couriers, said: “Winning Small Business of the Year is a significant achievement for HSP Couriers, and we are incredibly proud of this recognition. We look forward to building on this success and continue to deliver the high standards our customers expect.”

Among the finalists this year are Decathlon, DHL Kettering NDC, DSV and Yusen Logistics in the Big Logistics Company of the Year award, sponsored by Woodfines Solicitors. DHL Kettering NDC and DSV will also compete for the Team of the Year award in which they will be up against GXO Talent Acquisition Team, Pegasus Lift Truck Training and TruckEast.

The awards also recognise actions within the industry that focus on the safety, inclusion and wellbeing of those working within it.

In the Diversity & Inclusion Award, sponsored by DSV, the finalists will be DHL Kettering NDC, Fiona Tek & Iron Mountain, GXO Talent Acquisition Team, ID Logistics and Wincanton D& I Team. The Environmental and Sustainability Award, sponsored by Linde, will see Carbon Neutral Vending, DSV and Yusen Logistics go head-to- head; while Ana Silea from DHL, Billy Watson from Global Road Runners, Daniela Birneata from The NX Group, Matthew Broughton from ID Logistics and Precious Akintimehin from Festo will compete for the Rising Star of the Year trophy, sponsored by Dachser.

Awards organiser Charlotte Patrick, said: “What started as an idea to recognise a sector that is so important to this part of the country has grown into something that is attracting entries from some of the biggest names in the world of logistics.

“Over the years, more than 300 finalists – companies, teams and individuals – have been finalists in these awards and they’ve become a firm fixture on the logistics sector calendar. We’d love to see as many people as possible turn out to celebrate with us, and recognise the fantastic achievements of this area, so if you want to play your part in paying tribute to our logistics community, come and join us.”

A full list of all the finalists can be found on the Northamptonshire Logistics Awards website, and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony at the Mercure Northampton Hotel on Friday, September 26.

MHA is once again the headline sponsor and category sponsors also include Northampton College, Brackmills BID and RHA. The compere for the evening will once again be Clare Bottle, CEO of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA).
