Entries are now open for this year’s Northamptonshire Logistics Awards, the annual celebration of a sector that plays such a major part in the economy of the county.
With the awards set to be presented at the Mercure Northampton Hotel on Friday, September 26, the organisers are encouraging businesses and individuals to enter any of a number of categories covering all aspects of the sector.
In addition, there are still sponsorship opportunities available for those who want to play an important part in making sure those working in the local logistics community get the recognition they deserve.
Already on board as sponsors are Brackmills BID, Dachser, DSV, Northampton College, RHA and Woodfines Solicitors, while MHA has pledged its continuing support as Headline Sponsor of the
event. The compere for the evening will once again be Clare Bottle, CEO of the UK Warehousing Association (UKWA).
There’s also a new category this year – Rising Star, sponsored by Dachser – and the Driver of the Year category has been expanded to include LGV and HGV drivers.

Among the judges will be Andy Fitt, formerly MD at Yusen Logistics UK and now a Logistics UK Associate. He said: “What we are looking for are the stories behind the excellent work that the logistics sector does in this county.
“Entering is straightforward and there are plenty of categories to choose from, so we want to hear from all part of the sector about the businesses, teams and individuals who really make a difference.”
This year’s categories are:
- Apprentice of the Year
- Big Logistics Company
- Community Engagement Initiative
- Diversity & Inclusion Award
- Driver of the Year
- Environmental & Sustainability Award
- Health Safety & Wellbeing Award
- Logistics Person of the Year
- Rising Star of the Year

Awards organiser Charlotte Patrick said: “We’re all facing challenges at the moment, but it’s important that we see the positives as well and there are so many positive things going on in the sector in Northamptonshire.
“The awards have always been about how the logistics world grows and adapts to change, and we want to continue to show the breadth of services and opportunities within our local business community.” A series of events are planned to highlight various aspects of the sector and bring logistics organisations together.
Early bird tables for the awards night are now available and the finalists are expected to be announced in July, after which general tickets will go on sale.
