KRW Accountants is moving – not only from one office to another but into wider circles, with more staff than ever and a plan to increase strategic partnerships that will transform the company.
In practical terms, having outgrown its current space at the Pury Hill Business Park near Towcester, the chartered accountancy firm moved at the end of last month into bigger offices in the same location.
The new premises will house a team that has increased by 10 new appointments over the past year so, bringing the team to a total of 36. Those new colleagues were taken on as the firm continues to increase its client base for its core accountancy services – growth that has taken the business to a level that prompted the directors to develop a new strategy of diversification.
As an accountancy practice, KRW offers the usual compliance services, from accounts and tax for both individuals and businesses, as well as day-to-day support with payroll and bookkeeping, and auditing services for the larger clients that require it.

As it grew, KRW took the decision to launch a financial planning arm, meaning it could support clients with their pensions and investments, while further growth has prompted the launch of KRW HR, KRW Finance and KRW Sport Advisers.
Director Alex Beattie said: “We launched in 2009, just three of us, in a small office and then expanded in 2014 when we’d grown to around 10 people and needed more space. Now that we’re at around 36 people we really had outgrown the space we were in, but we love this business park, it’s a great place to come to work, the team like it and visitors seem to like it, so when a bigger office became available we jumped at the chance.
“It’s exciting to move, because it represents the growth and development of the company, as well as giving us scope to grow further.
“Our standard accountancy services are the mainstay of what we do but we also took the decision to diversify, with the aim of becoming a one-stop shop for clients. When you’ve grown to the size we are now, clients expect something more from you, and while we still focus on our core values, we’ve entered into some exciting partnerships that meet clients’ other needs.”
KRW Financial Planning saw a team of financial advisors come on board to increase the breadth of the advice on offer into areas such as pensions, wealth planning and long-term investments. As a complement to KRW’s payroll services, KRW HR will provide personnel and HR advice for clients, while KRW Finance will help those looking to raise additioal funding for large purchases or to embark on major projects.
Responding to client needs wherever it can, the KRW team has also expanded into the world of sport.
Alex explained: “We took the initial decision to diversify because it didn’t seem enough to just keep doing what we do but on a bigger scale. Those complimentary services are important to our clients and if they’re coming to us for their accountancy needs, it’s helpful to them to find other services in the same place.
“It just so happened that we were working with a number of professional sportspeople, including golfers and footballers. A lot of golf pros find themselves needing to raise finance to set up a club shop, or sportspeople need advice on investments, and so everything grew from there. It’s something a bit different but we saw a need and wanted to help.”
Having won Accountancy Firm of the Year at the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards in 2023, KRW followed that up by taking home the Employer of the Year trophy at the 2024 ceremony. Speaking after the receiving the award, Alex said that the firm was ‘doing as much as we can, and winning this award shows us that we must be doing something right’.

The dedication to doing the right thing by the team continues, with an unspoken ‘contract’ between the directors and the people who work for them.
“This past year has seen massive growth for us and the team have been amazing,” said Alex. “We have just come back from our annual skiing trip, where we all enjoy a weekend away together on the slopes, and that’s just one of the elements of how we work together.
“We also have professionals who visit to offer advice on anything from mortgage to nutrition advice, or do some yoga or relaxation sessions, or we organise some fun competitions and games.
“Their wellbeing is important to us, and we have an agreement with the team that if they deliver on what we ask of them, then we promise to be the best employer we can be, making this a nice place to be, where they want to come to work, and somewhere where they feel valued for what they do.”
