Anniversary year to remember

Anniversary year to remember - All Things Business

Home Instead East Northants is owned by husband and wife team, Mark and Rosina Darnell, who started the business in 2010 because they could both see a clear vision to supply the means to help people remain living with dignity and independently in their own homes, with the care and support that Home Instead’s team of CAREGivers can provide.

Both Rosina and Mark had previous first-hand experience of how difficult it was to find good quality care for their own parents.

The business has recently celebrated its tenth anniversary and has also congratulated longest serving CAREGiver, Sue Milling, who really is an angel in disguise, on 10 years of caring.

Looking back over the years the team has enjoyed reminiscing over the interesting clients that they have met, to hear about their lives and their loves, wartime jobs, a code breaker at Bletchley Park, a doctor’s funny stories, stepping out with their young men… if you can see beyond their age, they have such great life stories to tell!

Rosina and Mark are honoured to have helped and supported so many clients with over a million hours of care over the last 10 years, and are proud of the CAREGivers that have helped and often gone the extra mile so the clients remain in their homes supported, happy and safe. 2020 will certainly be a most memorable year.

Rosina said:

“We are immensely proud of this achievement and grateful to our CAREGivers and wider team who make what we do possible.

“Staff went above and beyond the call of duty, working through the lockdowns and continuing to provide quality care during the pandemic. We are so pleased to provide care to people at home surrounded by their home comforts. When times are hard, no visitors, self-isolating, families living further afield, for a lot of people our CAREGivers were often the only people they would see. It became an important priority to have homely comforts around you and a friendly face to brighten up your day.”

The variety of services offered are designed to help keep loved ones at home. Services available include assistance with personal care, companionship, shopping, light housework, appointments, days out, dementia and end-of-life care, mental health care, young adults care and for those with debilitating illnesses such as Parkinson’s, and respite care to get someone back on their feet after an operation.

This can be from a minimum of one hour to 24 hours, seven days a week.  Home Instead also offers Live-in Care as a new service.

In 2021, there are some exciting things happening in the Home Instead Network with the TV advert back on ITV and Sky after Christmas until March. There is also more exciting news over the coming months that will be released nearer the time.

Home Instead is looking forward to the vaccine being widely distributed so that vulnerable clients can get out and enjoy social occasions again, and to continue with their own community events safely again and, in general, have some normality back in our lives.

Wishing you all a positive, healthy and happy New Year!
