Local restaurant welcomes household name

A long career in football, most notably with Liverpool, as well as celebrity appearances in I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and Harry’s Heroes has left Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock with plenty of anecdotes to share.

In the latest All Things Business podcast, Razor talked candidly about how going back to training for Harry’s Heroes, where former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp put a group of ex-players through their paces, flagged up issues with his heart, leading to him having a pacemaker fitted.

Now Razor has a new story to tell, about how he took control of his lifestyle for the sake of both his physical and mental health and how he’s lost nearly seven stone by changing his approach to food and alcohol.

And later this month he will be in the best place to talk about how those eating and drinking habits have changed, when he joins chef James Peck at his restaurant, Ember, in Wellingborough for an evening of good food and great anecdotes.

Guests will enjoy an evening of fine dining, including pre-dinner drinks and snacks and a tasting menu featuring some of James’s specialities. Razor, whose appearance on Celebrity MasterChef helped him hone his cooking skills, will be joining James in Ember’s open kitchen.

As they prepare the food, James and Razor will talk about everything from Razor’s time playing alongside some of the best footballers this country has ever seen, to his new-found appreciation of good, healthy food and wine and how his lifestyle change has made him ‘the best version of himself’.

A small number of tickets are still available for the event, which begins at 6.45pm on Monday, March 27 at Ember in Nene Court, Wellingborough, at £125 per person.
