Founded by Heather Irving and Tim Hannaby, Ellievision AV specialises in innovative audio-visual solutions that create memorable results. The Ellievision AV portfolio includes receptions, dinners and balls, and the team will soon be setting up for the inaugural Milton Keynes Education Awards, organised by All Things Business, which will take place at the DoubleTree Hilton on September 22.
Additionally, Heather and Tim provide not just the equipment, but years of experience that enables them to advise clients on exactly what is needed, not just in terms of production technology but the finer details on how to create an atmosphere or environment that does the occasion justice.
“During the summer we’ve been busy with a huge roadshow for a major cider company, and, of course, we’ve been busy with large outdoor screens for all kinds of events and entertainment, but we’re now gearing up for an equally busy winter period,” said Heather.
“Christmas is the main event, naturally and we’ve already got a number of town centre lights switch-ons lined up, and we work with various venues in the area to help to provide the extra touches that clients need.
“Sometimes we take on the entire event down to the last detail and the client can leave everything up to us. Similarly, we might get a request from someone who’s found the ideal venue, but it doesn’t have a dance floor, or the stage isn’t big enough, or they need festoon lighting to create the twinkling Christmas feel they’re looking for. It doesn’t matter how big or small a part they want us to play, we’re happy to help.”
Winter weddings are becoming increasingly popular, and despite the unpredictable weather at that time of year, many couples want to use some outdoor space to create a special ambience for at least part of their big day.
“There’s a hotel in Milton Keynes where the marriage service can be held outside, and that’s an ideal opportunity to bring in some festoon lighting for a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and the photographs,” added Heather.
Whatever the requirements, clients will soon be able to take full advantage of Ellievision AV’s new showroom at the purpose-built premises the company moved into earlier this summer.
Having been out on site regularly during the summer, Heather and Tim are now working hard to get the showroom ready to open within the next few weeks. Once it is, it will feature displays of AV rigs and equipment, lighting and staging, so that visiting clients can get a clear idea of what is possible and what will work best when they are planning an event.
Tim said: “It’s an exciting time for us, being in new premises that open up so many opportunities to really show what we’re all about and showcase the work that we do. It’s so much easier for clients if they come in and see for themselves what can be achieved, and find out about all the other touches they might need to help to make their event a success.
“We’ve been doing this for years and by getting to know the client and really working hard to get to know what they want, we can meet and often exceed their expectations. Through our contacts in the industry and through our networking links, we can often help them with all the details they may not have thought of – maybe matching up a colour scheme, or finding someone that can sort out the insurance or risk assessments.
“Once we’ve come up with a plan, we’ll then make as many site visits with them as we need to until we’re certain we’ve got everything in place – ensuring everything goes smoothly and everyone has a fantastic time.”
