The new year starts with an exciting announcement as Phipps Henson McAllister (PHM) celebrate the appointment of Beverley Foode as the firm’s new Head of Tax. The appointment is part of ongoing plans to grow and strengthen the practice.
Bev will be responsible for building and leading the tax team, which is focused on providing specialist tax advisory services to work with clients to achieve their goals and overcome their challenges.
Bev arrives with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in Business Tax and Personal Tax. She has been heavily involved in tax advisory services for clients of all sizes nationwide. Additionally, she will not just be assisting PHM clients but also working with other fi rms of accountants and solicitors to assist their clients on specialist tax matters.
Speaking on her move, Bev said:
“PHM has a great reputation for delivering excellent advice and a first-class service with a friendly approach. I’ve joined PHM at an exciting time as the firm are exploring innovative ways to provide further support to their clients. The entire team at Phipps Henson McAllister care about their clients and believe personal relationships are extremely important. I’m delighted to have joined the team as their values are very well aligned with my own and I look forward to building strong relationships.”
Bev’s experience covers a wide variety of services including business restructuring, HMRC clearances, EIS/SEIS, EMI schemes, Stamp Duty Land Tax, HMRC enquiries, disclosures, capital allowances, land remediation relief and research & development claims.
“The need for tax advisory services has increased over recent years; we are seeing an increase in businesses wishing to incentivise their key personnel with tax efficient remuneration plans, this has led to more businesses exploring share options schemes, especially EMI schemes,”
she added.
“We are expecting higher volumes of disclosures to take advantage of HMRC’s disclosure facilities, the latest being crypto assets and research & development. With technology continuously advancing and HMRC focusing on inaccurate claims, many taxpayers are coming forward to declare their undeclared income or overclaimed tax reliefs.”
Ross Phipps Managing Partner at PHM said:
“I’m thrilled with the addition of Beverley Foode as our new Head of Tax and the expansion of our services. Her appointment marks a significant milestone as we look to grow the practice. The expertise that Bev brings will further enhance our ability to provide comprehensive support to our clients. This new tax advisory service aligns seamlessly with our existing offerings, reinforcing our commitment to delivering the best service we possibly can to our clients’ diverse needs.
PHM has developed into one of Northampton’s leading independent fi rms and has incorporated new services lines to provide more support in-house than many independent firms.
Bev said:
“The new tax advisory service line will complement the existing accountancy, corporate finance and HR service lines, I’m looking forward to collaborating with the team.”
