DFA Law announced the news that it has acquired employment law practice Sharma Solicitors.
The acquisition is a positive business development for the long-established Northampton law firm, which will allow DFA Law to further expand its expert services and client base.
The acquisition is a particularly poignant development for the Northampton firm, which acquired the London law practice following months of negotiations, during which Sharma Solicitors owner Paul Sharma passed away, due to a sudden terminal illness.
Business leaders at DFA Law remained committed to completing the acquisition and assisting Paul’s family in securing his legacy, while ensuring his clients would continue to receive the same level of exceptional expertise, advice and support.

Commenting on the acquisition, DFA Law’s Managing Partner Danny Roberts, said: “When Paul Sharma tragically passed away this was a great shock, and we extend our sincere condolences to his wife Genevieve and children, Alexandre and Elise. When learning of the tragic circumstances from the family, we were more determined than ever to try and make a deal work, and I am delighted that we have managed to do so.
“The burdens of running a regulated legal practice are well known within the industry and removing that alone felt the right thing to do and this deal actually goes far beyond commercial reasoning.”

DFA Law have provided specialist legal advice to clients for over 187 years. In addition to Employment law, it also has dedicated teams in the following practice areas:
- Dispute Resolution & Litigation
- Corporate Law
- Residential Property
- Wills, Trusts & Estates
- Family Law
- Commercial Property
The firm hope that with the new acquisition it can provide some comfort and reassurance that the clients Paul had worked with for so many years will continue to be well-looked after and represented.
Danny added: “Our thanks go to Genevieve and Solicitor Lillian Caller for their help and resolve in reaching a completion through such difficult times. We look forward to working with clients of Paul, some of whom became friends, and Sharma Solicitors for years to come.”
