Indulge your curiosity with an innovative new menu

There’s something curious about the new menu in Kettering Park Hotel & Spa’s renowned restaurant and it’s bound to impress diners; from couples to families, or from business lunches to a catch-up with friends.

The Curious Kitchen is a selection of innovative menu items, blending local flavour and suppliers with global flavours and influences, and using only the best ingredients.

Designed by the kitchen team to tell a story, the menu is aimed at giving diners a ‘taste adventure’ and to try to tell the story behind every ingredient.

Andrew Hollett, General Manager at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa, said: “We’re well known for the quality of the food in our restaurant and we have, for a long time now, promoted the wealth of fantastic ingredients and produce available in and around Northamptonshire.

“Our guests come from across the community, from families meeting for special occasions to businesspeople entertaining clients, colleagues or guests, to friends wanting to kick back and relax after work: we wanted our new menu to reflect that, to offer something new and different, possibly something a little more informal, and to cater to all tastes.”

The Curious Kitchen menu includes a range of small bites from cauliflower popcorn and salt and pepper tempura king prawns to a bowl of olives or a bread board to share.

Starters include a Curious prawn cocktail with prawns and crayfish tails, avocado mousse, lemon gel and pickle samphire with a Bloody Mary dressing; beetroot and black garlic; charred barbecue sweetcorn ribs; and crispy octopus and chorizo bonbons.

There’s a crispy duck and watermelon salad on the list of mains, as well as spinach gnocchetti, Curious chicken Kiev, charred gem lettuce Caesar salad and a range of Katsu curries.

For those who prefer the classics, there’s beer-battered fish, sausages, hand-crafted steak and Thwaites ale pie, and woodland mushroom linguini, as well as burgers, steaks and a mixed seafood platter.

Desserts include baked tonka bean and vanilla brulée, a s’mores sharing board and white chocolate cheesecake with blackberry gel and parmesan flakes.

Andrew added: “We are hoping our guests will enjoy what we’ve done with the menu, the quality is still exactly what they expect and all freshly created in our own kitchen, but hopefully different enough to excite the tastebuds.

“We’ll be opening up the al fresco dining area soon, once some milder spring weather starts to arrive, and with the lights on and some blankets to ward off the evening chill, we’re sure guests will enjoy getting out there. Wherever they eat with us, the Curious Kitchen gives them a chance to join us for some fine dining, with a host of exciting new dishes to try while they’re here.”
