Northampton Town Football Club enjoyed another successful year of its Cobblers Business Club events, bringing together a wide range of local businesses from Northamptonshire for a season full insight and networking. The programme once again showed the club’s strong connection to the local business community, offering a mix of engaging speakers and relaxed opportunities to connect.
The first event of the season took place in September at Silverstone Circuit, providing an exciting setting to kick things off. Guests heard from Ashley Hudson, Paul Shields and Paul Sculthorpe, who spoke openly about life after professional sport. The discussion offered a genuine look at the realities of transitioning away from professional sport, with honest and relatable moments that really resonated with everyone in the room.

In November, the Business Club took place at Sixfields Stadium, hosting an event in the pitch-facing Tollers Lounge entitled Beyond Human: AI Driving Business and Sport. With more than 70 businesses attending, the session focused on how artifi cial intelligence is shaping industries. An expert panel shared their thoughts and experiences, sparking plenty of conversation among guests. Alongside the talks, attendees enjoyed food and refreshments, with lots of opportunity to network and exchange ideas in a welcoming setting.
January’s event took place at Delapré Abbey, providing a unique and memorable setting. Barry Tong and Jim Rosenthal shared stories from their successful careers, offering guests a deeper insight into their journeys and the lessons they have learned along the way. The event created a relaxed and engaging atmosphere, giving businesses a great opportunity to connect, share ideas and build new relationships.
The final event of the season took place in April at The Brampton Halt, offering a more relaxed and social feel. Guests enjoyed a cocktail/mocktail masterclass along with a barbecue, making the most of the good weather. It was a great opportunity for informal networking, with plenty of laughs and conversations throughout the day.
Overall, the season’s events were very well received, with each one offering something a little different. From insightful discussions to more informal social events, the Cobblers Business Club continues to bring people together through Northampton Town Football Club.
