Accountant firm invests in International Tax team with London partner promotion

National accountancy and advisory firm MHA, the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International, has promoted Jonathan Dowding to Partner in its International Tax team, strengthening its support for large UK and international corporates. This is one of five new partner promotions in recent weeks.

Jonathan is based at MHA’s London office and joined the firm in 2021 from EY as Senior Tax Manager, before being made International Tax Director in 2023.

His role involves advising large corporates on international tax issues, with a particular focus on supporting listed and private equity-backed organisations with cross-border restructuring, international expansion and complex UK tax matters.

Jonathan also plays a key role within the Global Tax Solutions team, working with Baker Tilly International colleagues to support multinational clients across 140+ jurisdictions.

Chris Danes, Tax Partner, MHA said: “During his time with MHA, Jonathan has gained a strong reputation for advising some of our largest clients on their most complex cross-border tax issues.

“His approach, and the relationships he has built with our Baker Tilly International colleagues, are a brilliant example of how MHA supports clients – through long-term relationships built on trust and international expertise that helps them grow.

“His promotion will further strengthen our International Tax team and support the continued growth of our London office, as well as MHA as a whole, in the coming years.”

Jonathan said: “During the five years I have been with MHA, the company has seen impressive growth, both at the London office and nationally.

“That growth has been driven by the relationships we have with our clients and the trust they place in us. Whatever their size, business leaders value personal relationships built on trust and I’m excited to continue championing this approach and contribute to the ongoing success of MHA as part of my new role.”
