Meet the presenters

News coverage, local human interest stories and great business networking. That’s MKFM. But there’s a brilliant radio station too.

MKFM is well known for its news coverage, business and feature stories all about Milton Keynes. But the backbone of the organisation is its popular radio station, broadcasting from its studio in Stadium MK.

So, who presents the morning show? Who keeps you entertained on the drive home? And which programmes bring you the latest music and showbiz gossip?

Meet the MKFM presenters:

  • Wes Venn started in radio in 2003 at Horizon in Milton Keynes. His big break came while being dressed as the 103 Man (like the 118 Guy, but hairier). Since then, MKFM’s early morning presenter has mooched around the world of radio – presenting breakfast and drive time shows ‘all over the place’.
  • Ros Hale is a self-confessed crazy cat lady who likes to bring chaos and fun into any situation. Ros’s ability to overshare means there’s no aspect of her life you won’t hear about! She has lived in Milton Keynes for 23 years, and has hosted Breakfast on Horizon Radio, Heart Radio and MKFM.
  • Trevor Marshall has been involved in broadcasting in Milton Keynes since the early 1990s, when he started on the Horizon Radio Breakfast Show. Trevor subsequently worked with Ros and Cueball on Horizon Radio, before moving to host the Breakfast Show on Jack FM in Oxfordshire. He’s the voice of MK Dons FC.
  • Amelia Slaughter has been part of MKFM for five years and is now hosts Drivetime. A self-confessed pop obsessive, (a proud Swiftie) she’s happiest playing the biggest chart hits, dissecting reality TV and keeping listeners up the speed with the latest showbiz gossip. Away from the studio Amelia is a voiceover artist.
  • Keith Hurley is an award-winning DJ, producer and radio presenter with over 35 years in the dance music industry. A former DMC UK competition finalist, Keith began in the vinyl era before evolving across club, radio and digital platforms. Based in Milton Keynes, he hosts the weekend mix shows on MKFM.
  • Michael Blades, MKFM’s lunchtime presenter, was originally a lifeguard. Today he’s a keen photographer and technology ‘nerd’. He loves Milton Keynes, especially Bletchley Park. He favours ‘old-school’ music and his favourite artists are Jess Glynne and Ed Sheeran.
  • Rob James’ love of radio started at 15 when he joined Hospital Radio Hillingdon as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Award. And 35 years later, he has worked on stations across the UK and worldwide including holiday destinations of Corfu and Ibiza. He was one of the original MKFM team to bring local radio back to the city.
  • Hawa Kassam is a familiar voice on Saturday afternoons and has popped up across the schedule for more than four years, covering drive and a mix of other shows. Alongside her radio work, she’s a Worldwide Radio Sar Award winner and has also hosted stages and live events.
  • Liam Wood has been a staple of MKFM weekends for more than five years with stints across breakfast, weekend dance and afternoons. Local to Milton Keynes – he’s originally from Deanshanger – Liam has always loved presenting: stages to conferences, awards to radio.
