Young footballers, swimmers and struggling families are among those benefitting from the support of an award-winning accountancy company.
This summer, Rushden-based accountants, Elsby & Co, has donated £300 to Rushden Swimming Club’s Presentation Day, £100 to Thrapston Venturas FC to help families pay for football kits and has contributed £100 towards Little Harrowden Community Primary School for its Enterprise Day.
It is also sponsoring the SEND and Chill Zone at the Aim High Festival 2026 in Higham Ferrers this September, which is being organised by Northamptonshire charity, Ailsa’s Aim, to give families an affordable day out where they can enjoy free activities and entertainment.
Elsby & Co Managing Director Claire Emery said: “We’ve always been keen to give something back to our local community.
“We run a community fund where every year employees can nominate a charity or cause that is close to their hearts to receive up to £100. This is per employee, so across all our 35-plus employees it can really make a difference.
“Most recently, we’ve been delighted to support Rushden Swimming Club and Thrapston Venturas FC. We were also very pleased to help Little Harrowden Community Primary School after one of their Year 6 pupils wrote to us asking for support for their Enterprise Day which encourages pupils to find ways to grow a pot of money. We thought this was a fantastic thing for a school to do and we were very happy to support their efforts.
“Looking ahead to the autumn, we’re proud to be sponsoring the Aim High Festival 2026 which is set to be one the biggest free community events that has been held in Higham Ferrers for years.”
Ailsa’s Aim – which delivers essential care packs to people facing cancer and to families with babies in neonatal care – has organised the free festival to tackle isolation and bring communities together.
Visitors will be able to enjoy fairground rides, a soft play bus, gaming bus, circus skills, dinosaur experiences, face painting, parkour sessions, live music, dance performances, hobby horse championships and more. Optional fundraising activities will also be available to those who want to support the charity. The event will take place from 12pm until 8pm on Saturday, September 19, at Saffron Road Park.

Looking further ahead, Elsby & Co is working on plans to support more young people in 2027.
Claire said: “One of the reasons we want to keep growing our business is because we know schools are struggling and we want to be in a position where we can offer them even more support.
“We’re also working on plans for next year that will enable us to provide pupils with free financial education where we will help them to learn about things like pay checks, salaries and budgeting.”
