Delivery specialist extends London capability with strategic Enfield depot

Two-person delivery specialist AIT Home Delivery is strengthening its London operations with the opening of a new, strategically located depot in Enfield—designed to meet growing e-commerce demand while improving service efficiency across the capital and beyond.

AIT – a wholly owned subsidiary of AIT Worldwide Logistics – is investing £25 million over 10 years in the 91,000 sq ft facility. Positioned close to the A10 and M25, the site provides direct access into and out of London, enabling faster, more efficient final-mile operations.

Located 18 miles north of the City of London, the Enfield depot is ideally sited to reduce stem mileage, improve route optimisation, and enhance delivery reliability—delivering tangible service benefits for customers while supporting more sustainable operations.

The investment reflects sustained growth in UK e-commerce, which continues to expand at pace with forecast annual growth of 7.01% through to 2029. The UK remains the world’s third largest e-commerce market, behind China and the United States, with sales increasing by nearly 30% between 2024 and 2025 alone.

Gary McKelvey, Vice President, Global Home Delivery at AIT, said: “The opening of our Enfield depot is a key milestone in aligning our network with market demand. As e-commerce continues to grow, so too do expectations around speed, flexibility and reliability.

“By investing in a strategically located facility, we are not only increasing our capacity in London but also reducing mileage and improving delivery efficiency—ensuring we continue to provide a premium, reliable two-person delivery service that retailers and consumers can depend on.”

AIT continues to develop a network of strategically positioned depots, enabling consistent, high-quality service across the UK. The Enfield site strengthens AIT’s ability to deliver a full range of final-mile services, including nominated day or next day delivery, room-of-choice delivery, assembly and installation, packaging removal, and seven-day delivery underpinned by exceptional customer communication channels.

Formerly Panther Logistics, AIT Home Delivery was rebranded in July 2024 following its acquisition by AIT Worldwide Logistics in 2020. The business is now firmly established as a leader in specialist final-mile delivery.

Ryan Carter, Executive Vice President, Americas at AIT Worldwide Logistics, added: “London and the South East are among the most important logistics markets globally. Our investment in Enfield demonstrates a clear commitment to strengthening our UK network with infrastructure that enhances service performance, reduces operational inefficiencies, and supports continued growth.”
