Businesses Come Together to Increase their Social Impact

In January, Northamptonshire Community Foundation launched its Corporate Giving Network for local businesses to join forces to make a big social impact on their local communities.

Businesses are an integral part of the communities in which they operate. Many wish to support their local communities but lack the resources to identify priority needs, communicate with local community groups, and manage large volumes of charity requests.

The Northamptonshire Corporate Giving Network provides an effective solution for charitable giving, enabling businesses to work together to maximise impact and share best practice.

Northamptonshire Community Foundation is the county’s leading independent grant-making charity, with 23 years of expertise in resourcing small local charities, community organisations and volunteer-led groups. Last year it awarded over £2.5m in grants on behalf of a broad and diverse range of corporate, private and public donors.

Members of the newly launched Corporate Giving Network will benefit from a unique giving experience that will see their donations combined to create funding for their chosen local charities and community organisations working to better the lives of Northamptonshire’s most vulnerable residents. Northamptonshire based companies that have already signed up include Scott Bader, Commsave, HCR Law, Pilkington Communications, Sally Wood Consultancy, the Longhurst Group, the University of Northampton, Fortitude Financial Planning and Cheaney Shoes.

The team at Scott Bader said: “We have had a long-term working relationship with Northamptonshire Community Foundation and are delighted to support the Corporate Giving Network and look forward to making a greater impact throughout Northamptonshire.”

Dean Jones, Head of Giving and Development at Northamptonshire Community Foundation, said: “I’m thrilled to have formally launched our Corporate Giving Network. This gives Northamptonshire-based businesses the opportunity to meet their charitable objectives, to support their local community and to significantly increase the impact of their charitable giving by joining a network of like-minded organisations and entrepreneurs.

“We know that so many businesses want to support their local communities, but don’t have the dedicated resources needed to identify priority needs and manage large volumes of charity requests. At Northamptonshire Community Foundation, we’re experts in this field, and we’ll be sharing this expertise with our Corporate Giving Network members as we work with them to direct their funds towards the causes that need them most.”

The membership fee to join the Corporate Giving Network is £100 per month, or £1,200 per year, and there is no upper limit to this contribution. As well as membership to a giving circle of
likeminded professionals, and the opportunity to fund local groups giving life-changing support to those in need, corporate members will be invited to three annual events in the spring, summer and early winter. Each event will enable members to network and to see first-hand the impact of their giving and the vital work being carried out across Northamptonshire thanks to their generosity.
