A leading property consultancy has welcomed a planning expert with significant experience in both the public and private sectors to strengthen its team in Bedford.
Juliet Richardson has joined Fisher German’s Bedford office as an associate director.
Working across all aspects of general practice planning, Juliet has experience in the full cycle of development and planning, including local plan representations, development and site appraisals, planning applications and appeals.
She has acted on behalf of a broad range of clients including landowners, developers and public bodies and has considerable experience in working on new towns and urban extensions including the new settlements of Cambourn, Northstowe and Waterbeach in Cambridgeshire.
She also has significant experience in the negotiation of Section 106 agreements.
Juliet also works for the organisation Planning Aid where her planning skills are used to support charitable and voluntary organisations, and outside of work she is a registrar and conducts wedding ceremonies in Cambridgeshire.
She said:

“There’s real team spirit within the firm and the collaboration across its different specialisms is extremely strong.
“As well as continuing to grow the business in the Bedford area, I will be using my local knowledge to expand business into the East of England area.
“Planning is a discipline which is constantly changing and evolving which makes it an extremely exciting area to work in.
“It will be interesting to see how the latest government planning reforms unfold, and how Covid will impact land use planning, such as public health and the importance of having access to outdoor space.
“There has also been an increase remote working, and we will soon begin to see if more people consider rural or lower density lifestyles over city centres.”
