Hilton Northampton welcomed guests, partners, and community leaders last week for an immersive launch event celebrating the hotel’s extensive refurbishment and its deepening commitment to the local community. The occasion marked a major milestone, with £2.9 million invested in upgrading all 144 guestrooms, including the addition of two Five Feet to Fitness rooms featuring Peloton bikes, refreshed corridors, and the unveiling of the hotel’s brand-new wellness suite.
The event, titled “Journey Through Northampton,” transformed the hotel into a multi-sensory tour of the town’s culture, heritage, sport, and wellbeing, brought to life from the very first moment guests stepped aboard Northampton’s red heritage bus (the last Daimler 267) at the entrance.
Guests were invited to travel through six carefully curated stops, collecting stamps at each to enter an exclusive prize draw:
1. Boot & Shoe Restful Corner
Inspired by Northampton’s world-famous shoemaking legacy, this stop linked the craftsmanship of Crockett & Jones with Hilton’s Fit to Rest philosophy, showcased inside the refurbished double-double guestrooms designed for families and groups.
2. Market of Northampton
A celebration of local producers including Friar’s Farm, Jeyes of Northampton, Phipps Brewery, Northampton Community Trust, Delapré Abbey and Discover Northamptonshire, underscoring Hilton’s commitment to supporting regional makers and building community connections.
3. Cobblers Recovery
Guests explored elite recovery tools used by the Northampton Town Football Club Women’s team, including the Starpool-supported Cryo Bed and Hyperice technology, a highlight within Hilton Northampton’s enhanced LivingWell Fitness offering.
4. Delapré Abbey Mindfulness
A serene wellness experience inspired by Delapré Abbey, featuring the Zerobody Dry Float Bed, sauna, aroma room, BubbleSpa® shower, and a hand-care taster from Beauty by Frankie, now available through new semi-private and private wellness sessions.
5. From Track to Tranquility
This stop brought together Hilton’s global partnership with McLaren F1 and Silverstone’s performance energy. Inside the refurbished Five Feet to Fitness room, guests explored how smart training and recovery support sleep and overall wellbeing.
6. Royal & Derngate Pre-Theatre Experience
Set in the King Suite, this refined stop celebrated Northampton’s cultural institutions through a beautifully presented pre-theatre afternoon tea.
Four keynote speakers shared insights on the significance of Hilton Northampton’s investment and its impact on the local community:
- Emma Coen, General Manager at Hilton Northampton, emphasised the hotel’s dedication to elevating guest experience while championing local talent and partnerships.
- Steve Cassidy, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, UK & Ireland, Hilton, praised the passion of the Hilton Northampton team, noting that while the refurbishment is exceptional, it is the people who deliver outstanding hospitality every day.
- Mike Reader, MP for Northampton South, welcomed the investment as a positive contribution to local tourism, employment, and community engagement.
- Simon Cox, Head of NNBN, celebrated the hotel’s strengthened ties with Northamptonshire’s business ecosystem and its role as a connector for culture, wellbeing, and enterprise.

A shared theme resonated through all remarks: Hilton Northampton’s greatest asset is its people, and this investment reinforces its long-term commitment to serving and uplifting the community.
The evening featured live music from a local string band, a pianist and a cello player, culinary creations from Hilton Northampton’s kitchen team, and tasting sessions from regional suppliers, creating an atmosphere that honoured both the hotel’s transformation and Northamptonshire’s rich identity.
