Everyone deserves a treat at Christmas and sheer luxury and indulgence is the main theme of the party season at Kettering Park Hotel & Spa this year.
As always, there’s something for everyone, from festive afternoon teas and family lunches to glittering party nights and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Perfect for celebrating with family, friends or work colleagues, a programme of Christmas Balls promises to provide a night to remember – a twinkling evening of fizz, good food and fabulous entertainment, including disco and casino tables.
The first Christmas Ball is on Friday, November 19, followed by Friday November 25, Saturday November 26 and then each Friday and Saturday in December until Saturday, December 17.
After being welcomed with a glass of Ayala champagne from the House of Bollinger and savoury nibbles, guests will sit down to a three-course meal, starting with a choice of start
ers followed by a selection of main courses that includes slow cooked aged blade of beef with wild mushroom, brandy and peppercorn café au lait sauce; crisp filo pastry Wellington; or butter-roasted British turkey paupiette with streaky bacon, cranberry stuffing and pan gravy.
It’s either Thwaites’ Award-Winning Ale sticky plum pudding or chocolate and salted caramel delice for dessert, or a cheese selection for those that prefer something savoury.
That’s all followed by coffee and chocolate truffles before the entertainment begins. A late-night snack of lamb kofta kebabs on a warm flatbread will be served before the evening draws to a close.
Prices for the Christmas Ball range from £64.95 per person to £72.95 per person, depending on the preferred date.
A rather quieter indulgence is the Festive Afternoon Tea, which will be served throughout December. Put your feet up after all the Christmas shopping and enjoy the delicacies crafted by a team of award-winning chefs. Treats include smoked salmon quiche; pork, blue cheese and sage sausage roll; turkey and cranberry sandwiches; prune, Armagnac and walnut tartlets and pistachio and chocolate Battenburg. The Festive Afternoon Tea (£29.95 per person) can be transformed into a Champagne Afternoon Tea (£37.95) for a little extra luxury.
Festive Lunches and Dinners in the AA Rosette restaurant are available Monday to Friday, offering a menu similar to that from the Christmas Ball. Lunch is £27.95 for adults and £13.95 for children under 12, with dinner at £32.95 for adults and £16.45 for children. There will also be a Father Christmas Sunday Lunch on December 4, 11 and 18 for £34.95 per adult and £17.45 for children and the price includes a gift from Father Christmas, who will be popping in to say hello.
The most important meal of all, though, is Christmas Day Lunch and, as usual, Kettering Park Hotel & Spa is pulling out all the stops.
Priced at £115 for adults and £57 for children, which includes a gift from Father Christmas, the meal will offer something for those who like the traditional fare, and those who want something a little different.
Three starters are on offer: confit duck and foie gras roulade; goats cheese tartlet; and Chapel and Swan smoked salmon with lemon mayonnaise and
caviar. Roast turkey with all the trimmings heads up the main courses, but there’s also fillet of beef with Bordelais sauce; roast spiced cauliflower with leek and pearl barley risotto; and fillet of salmon with dill cream and caviar.
The desserts include Thwaites Ale Christmas pudding, dark chocolate and black cherry tart and a cheese board. All this is followed by coffee, tea and mince pies.
For a Christmas break, there’s the full Christmas package, which includes Christmas Eve dinner and carol singing, Christmas Day breakfast and Christmas Lunch, and Boxing Day breakfast for those booking a two-night stay. Longer stays are available, and additional days include dinner, bed and breakfast. Prices start at £335 per adult (£135 per child) for the two-night stay, arriving on Christmas Eve.
The New Year’s Eve package includes an overnight stay and use of the spa, with guests arriving in time for afternoon tea in the restaurant, followed by an evening that begins with champagne and canapes at 7pm, after which a Scottish piper will lead guests into dinner, where they will enjoy a five-course meal followed by a disco until midnight when everyone will welcome in 2023 in style.
The New Year’s Eve package is adults only and is £209 per person.
