Leading estate agency announces key appointment

One of Northamptonshire’s longest established estate agencies has a new managing director after Adam Faulkner, who joined the firm 16 years ago, was appointed to join David Jackson at the helm.

Adam started as a trainee negotiator in the Duston office in 2010 before becoming a branch manager; he was appointed as director in 2023 and will now lead the agency, alongside David, as it continues to build on its solid foundations in the Northamptonshire property market.

Jackson Grundy has 62 staff covering 10 branch offices, as well as two lettings agencies and mortgage centre, and is as committed to the traditional agency model as ever, while at the same time recognising that the world of buying and selling houses has changed considerably.

Adam said: “I’m very proud to be working alongside David, who is very well known across the county, and I’m looking forward to seeing how the property market develops in the future.

“There’s no doubt that things have changed, people search for properties in a different way now, but we believe that a lot of estate agency is as it always has been. We have a strong customer focus, and a local focus, and we are committed to our multi-office network because we know that each area had its own identity and local agents are specialists within these areas.

“The experience within the team here is invaluable, as is good staff retention, and we have some people who have been with us for nearly 30 years. That depth of local knowledge is critical and why some of the online estate agencies haven’t thrived the way they thought they would.”

Today, the services of an estate agency go beyond property particulars and viewings into the use of high-quality photographs, videography and drone footage to showcase a property in the most effective way possible. Input from an experience agency is at the heart of that, as is finding the right buyer and then managing the process through to completion.

“Buying a house is stressful, people find the property they want and are mentally moving in right way,” said Adam. “No one in the chain wants things to go wrong, but that’s where keeping on top of everything, making sure there are no issues down the line, is vital. Changes to legislation means the process can take a lot longer, and that can be frustrating, so it’s up to us to take as much stress away from the client as we can.

“Jackson Grundy has always remained very aware of the how the market is changing, and responds to those changes, helping vendors get the right people through the door and finding the right buyer for the right house.”

As well as its branches across the county, Jackson Grundy is also committed to long-term relationships within the community. Close ties with both Northampton Town FC and Northamptonshire County Cricket go back many years.

“We are proud to be part of the community we serve,” said Adam. “Part of the relationship is that we promote our brand in a way that gets seen by thousands of people on a regular basis. But those partnerships have also opened us opportunities to put something back due to the networking opportunities and business links they have opened up.

“Later this month, we are holding a golf day to raise money for Cynthia Spencer Hospice, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and is a charity we have supported for many years. People know the Jackson Grundy name, and that’s great, but using that to put something back into the community around us is also very important to us.”
