In this episode, Ben is joined by Shalom, Colin and Jo from The Investment Room. Shalom Lloyd MBE is the founder of Naturally Tiwa Skincare, Colin Gleghorn has founded businesses in the automotive industry, and Jo Fay has founded two family-run business in consultancy and insurance.
Colin devised The Investment Room as a way of fostering his passion for supporting and mentoring fellow entrepreneurs. He founded the business with Shalom, Jo, and Charles Mong, a businessman in production, processing and refining.

The Investment Room gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to pitch their ideas to a team of experienced business owners.
For successful pitches, the team will invest in the business and provide the entrepreneur with valuable mentorship. The partnership also offers a support network with people and professionals who understand the challenges of starting a business.
The team want to provide small businesses with the kind of support they wished they’d received when setting up their own businesses. The Investment Group is for those based in an MK postcode and are in the early stages of growing their business.

The four members of the team each bring a different skillset to The Investment Room.
Shalom’s belief is that people, process and customers are the most crucial parts of building a business. Helping build relationships and strengthen procedures is where she shines.
On the other hand, Colin assists businesses with securing the fundamentals and staying focused on the priorities.
Jo aids with actionable solutions and compassion, supporting business owners at every stage of the process.
Lastly, Charles brings an intellectual perspective and always sees the best in people and their ideas.
This wide variety of strengths allows the members to work effectively both independently and as a team. They all tailor their investment strategy to their personal skills, interests, and the mentee’s business.
