This month’s City Breakfast Club, hosted by MHA, was an inspiring and thought-provoking gathering that brought together business leaders, advocates and changemakers for meaningful discussions on leadership and critical health research.
We were honoured to welcome Dr Susan Izadkhasti and Gamiel Yafai from Women Leaders who shared the impactful work their organisation is doing to champion women through mentoring, allyship initiatives and the annual STEM festival MK Innovates. They also introduced the 2025 Women Leaders Awards, providing attendees with valuable insights on how they can get involved in recognising and celebrating exceptional women in leadership.

The event also highlighted a cause of urgent importance. Emma Jolly and Aimee Clarke from Brain Tumour Research delivered a powerful message on the need for increased awareness and funding for brain tumour research. As the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in children and adults under 40, brain tumours currently receive just 1% of national cancer research funding. The discussion underscored the crucial role that businesses can play in supporting life-saving research efforts.
A special thank you to our host Liz Newell, Partner at MHA, for leading the event and to all our attendees for contributing to such an engaging and impactful morning.
For those who missed this event, stay tuned for details of our next City Breakfast Club in April – we’d love to see you there!
