Northamptonshire’s leading privately owned businesses have collectively achieved £10.1 billion in turnover, according to the latest Northamptonshire LTD report published by Grant Thornton UK.
To mark the findings and bring together the county’s senior business community, Grant Thornton UK, in partnership with Howes Percival and All Things Business, hosted a celebratory dinner at Silverstone Circuit on 30 April, welcoming 40 senior business leaders from across the county.
The Northamptonshire LTD report showcases the county’s top privately owned businesses and highlights the crucial role they play in driving regional growth, employment and investment. Analysis shows that the county’s top 100 privately owned companies recorded a 3.6% increase in combined turnover, alongside 16% EBITDA growth, while employing a total of 39,540 people across the county.
The Silverstone dinner brought senior decision‑makers together to reflect on the report’s findings, assess the county’s economic performance, and discuss the opportunities shaping the local business landscape.
The event formed part of the wider Northamptonshire LTD campaign, which shines a spotlight on the resilience, adaptability and entrepreneurial spirit of the county’s private businesses – many of which continue to perform strongly despite changing market conditions.
Mike Tillson, Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP, said: “Northamptonshire has a remarkable business community, and the success of this year’s Northamptonshire LTD campaign is a clear reflection of that.
“The report highlights the scale and ambition of the county’s leading privately owned businesses, which continue to make a significant contribution to the regional and national economy. Bringing 40 local business leaders together at the impressive Silverstone venue was a fitting way to celebrate that success and recognise the people and organisations driving growth across Northamptonshire.
“The findings show a county that is entrepreneurial and full of opportunity. We are proud to work alongside Howes Percival and All Things Business to champion these achievements and help tell the story of Northamptonshire’s business success.”

Matthew Thompson, Corporate Partner, Howes Percival, said: “Northamptonshire is home to an impressive range of ambitious, innovative and resilient businesses. The Northamptonshire LTD report provides a valuable opportunity to recognise their achievements and highlight the contribution they make to the county’s economy.
“We were delighted to join Grant Thornton in bringing local leaders together at Silverstone to celebrate the success of the campaign and continue the conversation around growth, investment and opportunity across the region.”
Ben Thomas, Managing Director at All Things Business, said: “The Northamptonshire LTD campaign is about celebrating the businesses and leaders that make this county such a dynamic place to work.
“The Silverstone dinner was a fantastic opportunity to bring together people from across the local business community, share positive stories, and recognise the strength and potential that exists across Northamptonshire.”
Now in its 13th year, Northamptonshire LTD campaign forms part of Grant Thornton’s annual series of county-level business analysis across the UK. The campaign ranks and celebrates the county’s most successful privately owned businesses, while providing insight into their contribution to local employment, growth and the wider regional economy.
