Good business is built on firm relationships, and for DFA Law, that stretches beyond the professional legal services it provides and into putting its weight behind both the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards and the Northamptonshire Education Awards as a category sponsor.
DFA Law has been advising clients in Northamptonshire and the surrounding regions for over 180 years and has grown into a progressive, dynamic law firm but one that still believes strongly in the old-fashioned principles of integrity and professionalism.
The firm serves business clients with specialisms from Commercial Property and Corporate & Commercial through to Employment Law and Business Recovery advice. For individuals’ personal needs, DFA Law also has teams of experts in areas including Family Law, Residential Property, Dispute Resolution and Wills, Trusts and Estates, as well as employment advice for individuals.
On the back of the family law team achieving recognition in two global listings last month, the Dispute Resolution team have just discovered they have been successful in their tender for legal services to a national Plc, providing further job opportunities within the growing team.
The success of the firm has largely been built on maintaining a local focus and recruiting and retaining top professionals in each area of the business.
But the reason the Partners and team are so keen to show their support for the local business and education sectors through the awards is more about the firm’s ethos on how people are the focal point of everything it does.

Managing Partner Danny Roberts said: “We were very proud to sponsor the Businesswoman of the Year Award at the NBEAs and the English Team or Teacher of the Year at the NEAs, but we also want to congratulate each finalist and winner in all the other categories, too.
“The fact is, we have clients that are entering these awards, and we count ourselves fortunate to be able to work with them and share in their continued success, and maybe even play a small part in that. We have family members and friends who are working hard in their own roles in the business sector who equally deserve recognition. And, of course, a lot of us have children in school, being taught by our amazing teachers, while some of us also have relatives and friends who teach, work or help in our schools.
“We appreciate how much our businesses, schools and educators do for their communities and for the local economy, and think it is wonderful that there are awards events like these that recognise their amazing efforts. We’re delighted to be a part of that.”
At the Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards, Paul Currie, Partner at DFA Law, took to the stage to present the Businesswoman of the Year Award to Lucienne Shakir from Lucienne Coaching. Later the same month, Danny Roberts presented the English Team or Teacher of the Year Award to The Bedford College Group’s ESOL & Adult English Team.
