Northampton School swiftly established itself as a centre of sporting excellence since its opening in 2023, under the leadership of Head Teacher, Mr. Edwards. Both coaches have championed the girls’ football programme from the outset, working closely with a talented group of students who already enjoyed football and played for clubs outside of school. This unique blend of passion and prior experience has enabled the team to develop a strong competitive edge while creating a real a sense of camaraderie and pride.

These efforts have created a positive environment in which every player is encouraged to grow and perform at her best. The school’s support also extends beyond the pitch, with a pre-match dinner for the team and their parents at The Lumbertubs on Thursday evening. The squad will then travel together by coach and stay overnight in a hotel before the final at Stoke City Stadium. Local business TMX Recruitment has supported the team from the start by sponsoring the girls’ kit, while Richard Eason Photography captured special moments from their final training session.

Whatever the result, the girls, coaches and wider school community are immensely proud of how far the team has come. Northampton School is already laying the foundations to become one of Northamptonshire’s leading football schools.
