Hoping to make a good impression when he appears at the cinch County Ground in November, Rory Bremner has been announced as the host of this year’s Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards.
Known for his blend of comedy and political satire, Rory is a talented impressionist, specialising in leading political figures over the past four decades including Tony Blair and Gordon Brown, Bill Clinton and David Cameron, George Bush and Donald Trump. He has won numerous awards, including three Baftas for his long-running Channel 4 series Bremner, Bird and Fortune with fellow impressionists John Bird and John Fortune.
He has also been a team captain on TV panel shows Mock The Week and The Imitation Game and is a regular on radio comedy shows and the stand-up circuit.
A week after Rory’s visit, reality TV star Mark Wright will be at the cinch County Ground as the host of this year’s Northamptonshire Education Awards.
Mark appeared in the first three series of The Only Way Is Essex before gaining more popularity when he had a spell in the jungle as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and on the dance floor in the 2014 series of Strictly Come Dancing.
Before taking to the small screen, Mark was a footballer with a youth career at West Ham, Arsenal and Tottenham, before playing professionally with Southend United and in non-league football, including a spell at Rushden and Diamonds.
He has also made numerous TV and radio appearances including a regular slot on Heart radio and as a guest presenter on This Morning, and in the annual charity football event Soccer Aid.
This year’s Northamptonshire Business Excellence Awards will take place on Friday, November 27 and will feature 13 categories, from Apprentice of the Year, sponsored by Northampton College, to BIG Business of the Year, sponsored by MHA.
Now in their ninth year, the awards celebrate the best of the county’s business community. The awards are currently open for entries and nominations, all categories are free to enter and there is no limit on how many categories a business or individual can enter.
On December 4, the cinch County Ground will stage the Northamptonshire Education Awards, which offer 15 categories, including Maths Team or Teacher of the Year, sponsored by Brioche Pasquier, and Headteacher of the Year, sponsored by FormFive. New for this year, the Alternative Provision Provider of the Year will recognise those providers who support learners outside of mainstream settings and do so much to enhance to life chances of vulnerable young people.
